What is is A replacement for the part you can't see, too A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth. It's placed in the jawbone and creates a foundation for the replacement tooth you see above it. For one missing tooth, that usually means an implant topped with a crown. When several teeth are missing, implants can also support a bridge or another type of restoration. The goal is to replace what's missing without involving healthy neighboring teeth when we don't need to. When an implant makse sense. One missing tooth. Several ways forward. Learn more about full arch implants What treatment is actually like A few steps. Planned around you Your implant is placed in the jawbone, usually right here in our office. We make sure you're comfortable with local anesthesia, and sedation options are available when appropriate. Then comes healing. Over time, the bone integrates around the implant and creates the stable foundation we need. Once the implant is ready, we attach the restoration — such as a crown for a single tooth or a bridge when several teeth are being replaced. The honesT part An implant needs something solid to hold unto Not every missing tooth is automatically an implant case. A dental implant needs enough healthy bone to support it. If there isn't enough bone where the tooth is missing, placing an implant there may not be the right first step. Sometimes bone can be rebuilt with grafting. Sometimes another treatment makes more sense. We'll show you what we see and talk through the options before recommending anything. If an implant isn't the right choice for you, we'll tell you. cost and payment Clear information No surprises. The cost of dental implants varies depending on what you need — including how many teeth we're replacing, whether bone grafting is needed, and the type of restoration we're planning. Before treatment begins, you'll receive a written estimate so you know what to expect. We'll file your dental insurance for you and talk through the payment and financing options available. Cost & Payment Options When you're ready You don't need to know whether an implant is right for you before you come in. We'll take a look, listen to what matters to you, and explain what we see. - Botox | Bowman Dental
Restore Your Youthful Appearance. While we can't stop the aging process, we can help you turn back time and slow the process. Learn how Botox and fillers can help reduce the signs of aging. BOTOX Two reasons. One thoughtful approach . Botox is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes specific muscles. Dr. Molly Sayball administers it here for two different reasons—one clinical and one cosmetic—and they’re worth understanding separately. Clinical use — For clenching, grinding, tension headaches, or TMJ discomfort, Botox may help relax overworked jaw muscles. Dr. Sayball will confirm whether it fits your symptoms. Cosmetic use — Botox can soften fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, and may also help with a gummy smile or lip lines. Dr. Sayball will explain what is realistic for you. What it’s like. 01 The consultation — Talk with Dr. Sayball about clinical concerns, cosmetic goals, or both. 02 The treatment — Small injections are completed chairside. 03 The wait — Results develop gradually as the targeted muscles relax. 04 The follow-up — We’ll review your response and discuss whether you want to continue. When it isn’t the right answer. Botox isn’t right for everyone. Tell Dr. Sayball about your health conditions, medicines, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. We’ll review the risks and alternatives before treatment. For clenching or TMJ pain, a night guard or another approach may be a better fit. We’ll talk honestly about your options. Bring your questions—even if you are only curious. Dr. Molly can explain your options. What it costs: Your treatment cost is explained at your consultation. - Sedation Dentistry | Bowman Dental
Learn how conscious sedation dentistry with Walpole, NH dentist Dr. Peter Bowman helps patients across Keene, Brattleboro, and Southern New Hampshire relax through dental care—awake, comfortable, and often with no memory of treatment. Conscious Sedation For anyone who dreads the chair. It's okay to be nervous You don’t need to apologize, explain everything perfectly, or pretend you’re comfortable when you aren’t. Some people have had a difficult experience. Others have a strong gag reflex, trouble sitting through a long appointment, or anxiety they simply can’t switch off. Oral conscious sedation may help the appointment feel more manageable. You remain awake and able to respond, but the medication can help you feel calmer and less focused on what is happening around you. We’ll review your health history, medications, and planned treatment before deciding whether oral sedation is a safe fit for you. What is actually is Oral consciou sedation A pill, taken before you arrive — you stay conscious the whole time. Oral conscious sedation is a pill you take shortly before your appointment, prescribed after a short consultation with Dr. Bowman. It doesn't put you to sleep — you stay conscious and able to respond, but relaxed, and often sleepy. You'll need someone else to drive you home, and many patients remember little or nothing of the visit afterward. For stronger anxiety or longer treatment Requires a responsible adult to drive you Includes monitoring throughout your visit What it's like Before the appointment We’ll review your health history, medications, planned treatment, and transportation. You’ll receive clear instructions about eating, drinking, and when to take the medication. When you arrive Your responsible adult will bring you to the office. We’ll make sure you’re ready before treatment begins. During treatment You’ll remain conscious and able to respond. We’ll monitor you and keep communication simple throughout the appointment. Afterward Your adult must take you home and remain available while the medication wears off. You should not drive, work, make important decisions, or care for someone else that day. WHO IT MAY HELP For patients receiving extensive restorative, implant, or surgical treatment, oral conscious sedation may make the appointment easier to tolerate. Sedation does not replace local anesthetic. We’ll still numb the treatment area when needed. The medication’s job is to help you feel calmer while we complete the planned care and monitor how you’re doing. WHEN SEDATION ISN’T THE RIGHT ANSWER Comfort matters. Safety decides. Oral sedation isn’t appropriate for every person or every appointment. Certain medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, breathing concerns, or the absence of a safe ride home may change the plan. We’ll review your health honestly. If the level of sedation you need is beyond what we provide, we’ll tell you. Bowman Dental does not provide IV sedation, and we’ll recommend a different setting when that is the safer choice. Questions people ask What you may want to know. Clear answers about oral conscious sedation, so you can decide whether it feels like the right next step. You're welcome here However nervous you are, tell us — there's no wrong way to bring it up. Ask whether sedation is right for you. No commitment, and no answer needed that day. Ask us whether this is an option Call 603-756-4719

- Prevention First | Bowman Dental Copy
Preventative care is crucial in keeping your teeth and mouth healthy. We advise our patients to come in the office every six months for a cleaning and exam. Prevention First We Believe in Prevention First Preventative care is crucial to keeping your mouth and teeth healthy. We advise our patients to come into the office every six months for a comprehensive exam and cleaning. During this time, one of our doctors will check for signs of decay as well as periodontal disease and oral cancer. Routine dental care can prevent small problems from getting out of hand and requiring more treatment. Why do you need Preventative Care? If left untreated, small dental or oral problems can become more advanced and require more invasive treatment to repair. Preventative care doesn’t mean only checking for existing problems, but it also prevents problems from starting in the first place. A thorough cleaning as well regular exams done by one of our doctors can help to prevent issues like gingivitis, decay, and periodontal disease from occurring or advancing. Every member of the family should visit the dentist twice a year for routine preventative treatment. What are the benefits of Preventative Care? Prevention is far better for your oral and dental health than having to treat existing dental problems. Bacterial overgrowth can cause issues such as tooth decay and periodontal disease. With effective preventative care, you can avoid these problems or begin treating them when they first start to develop. Bowman Dental is here to provide you and your family with quality preventative care. What can you expect when receiving Preventative Care? It’s important to make time to come in for your bi-annual appointments each year. You will first have x-rays taken of your teeth to check for signs of decay and other intraoral problems. Next, a thorough cleaning is done by our hygienist who will work to remove plaque and hardened tartar. The hygienist will then measure your gums to check for signs of gingivitis and periodontal disease. Once the cleaning is complete, one of our doctors will come into the room to perform an exam, checking for signs of decay, loose restorations, and oral cancer. The exam is done quickly and comfortably. If you are in need of preventative care, call us today so we set you up with an appointment. Preventive Care The best way to prevent complicated, and costly, dental procedures down the line is to take action now. And below are a few tips for preventing periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, as well as other dental issues. Remember that the mouth is the gateway to the body, and inflammatory diseases like periodontal disease have been linked to Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular disease, and a whole host of other systemic disorders. Brush Your Teeth Brushing after meals helps remove food debris and plaque trapped between your teeth and gums. Don’t forget to include your tongue, where bacteria loves to hide. We recommend an electric brush, like the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Professional, to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Floss Flossing at least once a day helps remove food particles and plaque between teeth and along the gum line that your toothbrush can’t quite reach. Swish With Mouthwash Using a mouthwash can help reduce plaque and can remove remaining food particles that brushing and flossing missed. We recommend CloSYS, an antimicrobial mouthwast (chlorine dioxide) that's plenty powerful and pleasantly gentle. Naturally activated by your saliva CloSYS kills bad bacteria in 10 seconds without the burn you've come to expect. Know Your Risk Age, smoking, diet and genetics, and diabetes can all increase your risk for periodontal disease and other dental issues. If you are at increased risk, be sure to talk with one of our doctors or one of our hygienists. See Your Hygienist All of our hygienists provide comprehensive care at every visit, which includes examining your teeth, plaque level, gums, bite, bone structure and other risk factors. Identifying symptoms early is key to protecting your teeth and gums. To take care of your oral health this month, and this year! If you’re overdue, don’t hesitate to call us at 603-756-4719 to see your hygienist soon. Or stop by our front desk to grab any of the products.Your smile will surely thank you. - Our Policies | Bowman Dental Copy
Please read our important polices and protocols that we follow at Bowman Dental. Our Policies Appointments & Cancellations Your time matters. So does everyone else's. Cancellations & rescheduling If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least two business days' notice. We understand that unexpected things happen, and we appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible. Appointments When you make an appointment, that time is set aside for you. If your plans change, let us know at least 24 hours ahead — for Monday appointments, by 2:00pm the Friday before. If a cancellation happens without enough notice, or you're not able to make it in, we'll work through it with you individually — we're not looking for reasons to hold it against you. That said, a few things to know: after three missed or late-cancelled appointments, we'll ask you to schedule only same-day visits going forward, and to pay in advance. New patients who do not show up for their first confirmed appointment won't be able to reschedule. If you have any questions about how this works for your situation, call us — 603-756-4719 Insurance & billing We'll file your insurance claims and help you use your benefits fully — send us your insurance information ahead of your visit so we can verify it for you. Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, so we're not able to guarantee what they'll pay. If your insurer hasn't paid a claim within 90 days, or denies a payment, the balance becomes yours to settle directly with us. Any balance still open 45 days after insurance has paid is due. After 60 days, a yearly finance charge of 18% applies (1.5% monthly on the outstanding balance) — we'd rather you never see this line used, so reach out if a balance is going to be a problem before it gets there. If an account goes unaddressed past 90 days, it moves to collections, and Dental Savings Plan membership ends at that point. We'll always try to work out an arrangement that makes sense before any of this becomes necessary. Questions? Just ask. We know every situation is a little different. If you have questions about an appointment, insurance, or payment, our team is happy to help you understand what to expect. Contact Our Team
