Dr. Peter Bowman's connection to this valley began generations before he ever called it home.
His great-grandfather, Dr. Charles William Houghton, born in Walpole in 1902, practiced dentistry just across the river in Bellows Falls beginning in 1931 - and also founded Vermont's first school of dental hygiene.
